Taken at roughly 5:34am Hawaii and one of my favorites from the trip for many reasons. The beauty of a sunrise above the clouds is truly a majestic one (10,000ft) and something everyone should experience. Always wanted to myself and can finally check it off the list of to do's. We had to get up at something like 3ish in the morning, the drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart at that time of day with the usual twisting winding roadway you come to know as a Hawaiian way of life. Needless to say, I was only 1 of 100's at the peak & I was fortunate enough to run into one of the rangers who pointed me to this spot where fewer people had taken the hike to get to. Made for taking a better shot without interruption. Let me tell you this... ITS COLD!!! Where a jacket or bring a blanket because I ended up using the wet beach towel lying in the back of the car overnight. I wasn't thinking when I opened my eyes that early, especially after driving the 35 mile Road to Hana which is something of a task to drive on the return trip. More Hawaii Honeymoon shots to come...
